The prospects for further development of Azerbaijan-UNESCO cooperation were discussed in Paris
 

Head of the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan to UNESCO, Ambassador Anar Karimov, met with the newly appointed UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Culture, Ernesto Ottone Ramires.

During the meeting held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, Ambassador A.Karimov congratulated E.Ottone on his appointment and wished him success in his future endeavors.

The sides exchanged views on cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNESCO in the cultural sector. The activity of Azerbaijan in the cooperation with UNESCO, as well as contributions to the cultural sector was highly appreciated. The sides also touched upon the 43rd session of the World Heritage Committee to be held next year in Baku.

A.Karimov gave detailed information on the successful policy pursued in the country for the further development of the cultural sector and the steps taken to promote the rich culture of our country in the international arena.

He emphasized the contributions of the First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Mehriban Aliyeva to the development of relations between Azerbaijan and UNESCO, as well as in the cultural sector.

The parties highly appreciated the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNESCO and discussed opportunities for further development this cooperation in the future.

The Assistant Director-General for Culture Ernesto Ottone Ramires was presented with books about Azerbaijan and he was invited to visit the country.
