Azerbaijan has submitted 2 files to the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage
 

“Yalli (Kochari, Tenzere), traditional group dances of Nakhchivan” has been submitted for inscription on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding and “Heritage of Dede Qorqud/ Korkyt Ata/ Dede Korkut, epic culture, folk tales and music” has been submitted for inscription on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as a multi-national nomination by Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkey.

Secretary of the UNESCO Convention on the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, Tim Curtis informed about it.

It was noted that the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage included 7 files in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding, 40 files for the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage and 2 files for Good Safeguarding Practices.

The above-mentioned files will be considered and decisions will be made regarding their inscription on the list during the 13th Session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, held in Port Louis, Republic of Mauritius, from November 26 to December 1, 2018.
