"Yalli (Kochari, Tenzere), traditional group dances of Nakhchivan" has been inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding

 

"Yalli (Kochari, Tenzere), traditional group dances of Nakhchivan" has been inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding by the decision of the 13th Session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage held in Port Louis, the capital of the Mauritius on 26 November - 1 December 2018.

The mentioned nomination document was presented jointly by the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan to UNESCO. The main purpose of presenting the nomination document under the name of Nakhchivan is to promote the traditional culture and folklore of the people living in Nakhchivan, the ancient and historical region of Azerbaijan, at the same time to safeguard these traditions at the UNESCO level.

Armenia's provocative attempts against the nomination of "Yalli (Kochari, Tenzere), traditional group dances of Nakhchivan" were prevented.

With the support of the First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, who has an exceptional services in the development of cooperation with UNESCO and the promotion of our cultural heritage worldwide, "Yalli (Kochari, Tenzere), traditional group dances of Nakhchivan", as well as the other intangible cultural heritages of Azerbaijan have been inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
