Azerbaijan participates at the 12th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee

The 12th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions started its work in Paris.

Our country is represented by a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Culture Sevda Mammadaliyeva.

During the session titled "Createl 2030", the participants will exchange views on the contribution of creativity to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including the effects of artificial intelligence on creativity, threats to artistic freedom, the role of female entrepreneurs in the cultural industries and other related topics.

The Convention for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions was adopted in 2005. With the adoption of the Convention, the international community has officially recognized the dual nature of the modern cultural identity that is cultural and economic value, formed by art professionals and cultural experts. The Convention, which reflects the formation and implementation of policies and measures that support the creation, production, distribution and promotion of cultural products and services, is at the heart of a creative economy. The Republic of Azerbaijan is a member of the Convention since 2010.
