A bust of the renowned Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi has been unveiled in Yekaterinburg

A bust of the renowned Azerbaijani poet and philosopher Nizami Ganjavi has been unveiled at Ural Federal University (UrFU), one of Russia's leading higher education institutions.

AZERTAC reports that an opening ceremony was held with the support of Azerbaijan's Consulate General in Yekaterinburg and the Azerbaijan National Commission for UNESCO.

At the event, speeches were delivered by Viktor Koksharov, the rector of UrFU; Lyudmila Berg, Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region; Shohrat Mustafayev, acting as Consul General; Elvira Simanyuk, Director of the Ural Institute of Humanities; Valentina Sokolova, the sculptor of the bust and professor at the Ural State Academy of Arts. They discussed the development of educational and cultural-humanitarian relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the significant role of literature and art in deepening these relations.

It has been reported that the placement of the bust of the renowned Azerbaijani poet and philosopher Nizami Ganjavi at the Azerbaijan Studies Center of UrFU is a significant event.

During the opening ceremony, the works of Nizami were recited by university students in Azerbaijani and Russian languages.
