The Public Radio broadcasted a special program dedicated to the UNESCO World Radio Day

On February 13, with the initiative of National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO and the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan a special program was broadcasted in the Public Radio, dedicated to the UNESCO World Radio Day.

It should be noted that UNESCO celebrates 13 February every year as a World Radio Day, and this year's theme is Radio and Sport.

Ambassador-at- Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Secretary General of the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO Elnur Sultanov and Head of the Press Service department of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan Samaya Mammadova attended the event. Elnur Sultanov spoke about the history of cooperation of Azerbaijan with UNESCO and the important works done by the National Commission during the past 25 years in cooperation with UNESCO and member states.

Speaking about the exceptional services of the First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva in the development of close relations between Azerbaijan and UNESCO, Elnur Sultanov noted that as a result of Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva;s efforts, 2 tangible and 11 intangible cultural heritages were included in the relevant lists of UNESCO and gave detailed information about Chovgan, a traditional Karabakh horse-riding game.

Samaya Mammadova informed the audience about the role of the radio in the world and Azerbaijan, as well as cooperation with UNESCO in the field of youth and sports in our country.
