Azerbaijan National Commission for UNESCO has achieved great successes

A cultural event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO was held at the International Mugham Center on March 6.

The event was supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

An exhibition of works by young artists of the DA art studio dedicated to the intangible cultural heritage samples included in the relevant UNESCO list of our country was presented at the foyer of the Mugham Center.

At the beginning of the event, a short film jointly prepared by Azerbaijan State Television and National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO was screened. The film reflected the multifaceted activities of Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, developing stages of Azerbaijan-UNESCO cooperation, achievements of our country and other issues.

Famous singers of Azerbaijan - People's Artist Mansum Ibrahimov, Honored artist Arzu Aliyeva, Honored artists - tar player Elchin Hashimov and kamancha master Elnur Akhmadov, F. Amirov band, Azerbaijan State Song and Dance Ensemble, Young Ashig band, Jabbar Garyagdioglu No. 9 Children Music School and young mugham performer Kenan Bayramov made speeches.

Chairman of the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, members of the National Commission, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in our country, as well as cultural personalities and artists participated in the event. Within the framework of the event, the CD album, composed of Mugham pieces and publications regarding Azerbaijan-UNESCO relations, jointly prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Culture and the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO was presented.
